Answers to common questions about subscriptions, upgrades, installation, and workspace licensing.
Your license expires, and you're no longer authorized to use PM Engine. We don't build technical restrictions into the software, but continued use after expiration violates the license terms. To keep using PM Engine legally, renew your subscription before it expires. When you renew, your locked-in pricing stays the same.
Yes. Upgrading requires only a license key change; no reinstallation is needed. Your projects, boards, cards, and all data remain exactly as they are. The upgrade takes a few minutes and doesn't interrupt your team's work.
Contact us. We handle licensing on a case-by-case basis and can create arrangements that fit your situation. The Professional tier is suitable for many organizations with up to 100 users, and we can structure an appropriate plan for larger teams that don't require enterprise support.
Installation takes minutes. The installer package includes everything you need. You answer a few configuration questions, and the system is ready to use. Once PM Engine is installed, configuring your first projects and teams is straightforward. Most organizations have their teams working in the system within the first day.
No. PM Engine uses annual licensing. This aligns with how self-hosted software works: you receive a full year of updates and support as part of your subscription. Annual billing also keeps our administrative overhead low, which helps us maintain straightforward pricing.
A workspace is a separate organizational unit within your PM Engine installation. Each workspace can have its own administrators and user base. It's useful when different departments or business units need independence in managing their work.
A single user can belong to multiple workspaces and sees a unified view of their personal to-dos across all of them. This lets you keep teams organizationally separate while allowing collaboration where it makes sense.
We understand that our standard license terms may not be optimal for every client and every project, so we encourage you to contact us to discuss your unique licensing requirements. Questions? Call our office or email us at sales@pmengine.com.
